Eyecare ImageAt Drs. Luck & Golden Optometrists, PC, our entire optometry team is committed to providing advanced vision care in a professional and comfortable environment. As optometrists, our primary eye care service includes a complete eye exam that analyzes eye health and vision function. Eye Exams

Our team takes even routine eye exams very seriously. During a yearly or bi-yearly examination, our patients will receive a patient history review, a series of vision and eye tests, assessments of eye focusing, binocularity, eye tracking, and an eye health evaluation. Digital retinal photography is available to document medical status of the retina. Computerized visual field testing is provided on an individual basis. We will discuss any additional testing that may be required to diagnose an eye disease or condition. Call us a today at (315) 866-4020 to schedule an appointment.

Vision Therapy/Perceptual Evaluation

VISION IS MUCH MORE THAN 20/20 VISUAL ACUITY. Do your eyes feel tired after doing periods of close work or computer activities? Does your child have difficulties concentrating and completing his or her school work? These types of problems can be related to inadequate visual skills such as poor focusing, eye teaming, and eye tracking or conditions such as strabismus (eye turns) and amblyopia.

Our comprehensive visual examination will reveal any problems that exist in these areas. If these problems are having a negative effect on your life, a vision therapy evaluation can be performed and vision therapy instituted if necessary.

The majority of what is taught in school comes through the visual system. For children with school difficulties, a visual perceptual evaluation can also be performed to determine if problems in the perceptual area (such as visual memory, visual discrimination, visual-motor integration, directionality, and visual conceptualization) might be affecting school performance. Vision therapy can be initiated to improve these abilities as well.

The goal of vision therapy is to improve visual functioning and make visual activities more efficient, comfortable, and enjoyable. For children, vision therapy can help provide a firmer foundation for learning.
